Welcome!
Christ Church RGV is a “three Streams” Anglican church plant. Together, we are creating a church that will embody the best of the liturgical, evangelical, and charismatic expressions of Christianity. Our services follow the basic traditional structure found in the Book of Common Prayer. You’ll hear ancient creeds, scripture readings, and both written and spontaneous prayers. We worship with these ancient forms because we want our worship style to form us, rather than to mold worship according to what suits our current brokenness.
Sometimes, people describe Anglicanism as a “reformed Catholic” church, or a way that bridges the gap between the Roman Catholic Church and Protestant expressions of Christianity. So, we also try to lean into that in order to create a common worship space for families in the Rio Grande Valley split between devotion to Roman Catholicism and Protestant-Christianity. We affirm the authority of scripture, and our priority is to teach scripture in a way that is thoughtful and relevant so that we can live our lives as Spirit-filled students of Christ.
